Little sunshine, little rain Come springtime they'll be back again Two moonbeams wrapped in cellophane That light up the sky outside our window pane Not an ordinary year But we know what we're made of And I'm glad that you are here I'm glad you’re here my love

The Ride 03:13
We leave- as planned Before the song is over Monster leads me gently by the hand Now I don't know where we're going But I do know when (say it again) Ride with us tonight Over quiet roads we glide Find a light on either side Feel the buzz- it's because you're electrified Let's rock and roll Let's shake 'em like an earthquake Manchild say the word and we will make Monkey see monkey do monkey break (make it break) This is the way Ride with us tonight Love and terror- black and white Mirror mirror- sin of pride Grit and mud- spit and blood- all purified Purified It is time so drive my car Rise and shine like a far-out superstar Who are you What are you Are you Take a ride with us tonight Throw yourself into the fire Take a ride with us tonight Writ in blood and petrified

The Mailbox 04:18
I think there's no one home Fences gates and padlocks Guard this great unknown What tales have I been told By daydreamers and nighthawks To start me on this road? When darkness falls the sound that crawls Through the ether Before it slowly disappears It leaves a trace on my receiver And that's what brought me here A note says -leave a note But you won't find the mailbox Just feed it to the crows And watch them as they go High over the beanstalks Into our great unknown- When darkness falls the voice that calls Through the ether And whispers sharply- can you hear? It leaves the question ringing in my ear When darkness falls the ghosts that waltz Through the ether Before they quickly disappear They leave a trace on my receiver And that's what keeps me here I guess that no one's home Fences crows and beanstalks Another winding road

Beacon Road 03:15
A breeze sweeps the leaves past your window And breathes on the trees in the night You spin the dial for a signal Weak to slight There, it's that voice on your radio Sounds like a dream even though No one sleeps in Beacon Road

Clock Struck 03:17
The tower clock struck eight, the visitor was late He ran across the street and looked at me His eyes a shade of red, just like (somebody said) A zombie or at least a freak Sweating bullets out of breath, hey hey well well Everyone knew this could be good It might be dangerous but what can you do Folks gathered 'round There was no sound Apart from pounding hearts As he fell to the ground The bogeyman looked sad, a bitter tear was shed That's why nobody ran, you understand Until the marksmen came and readily took aim He ducked but no such luck, the clock struck Catching bullets out of time, well well bye bye Everyone said this could be bad He might be paralysed or he might be dead Folks gathered 'round There was the sound of bells The clock struck twelve As he lay on the ground Here's something new, somebody who Saw through the heavy smoke and pitied the fool Jumped over the wire Emotions ran high The sky was set alight In a ball of friendly fire

I am The Sea 04:07
Oh my ship, my golden cage He turns the page and scribbles quietly 'I am the sea' Out on the deck something's causing a stir The sailors confer The clouds are so thick and the mates are fear-stricken A wicked thing's coming this way Oh my home, my long goodbye Down below five hundred voices Cry of the sea He's made up his foggy old mind that somehow He ought to reach out While faintly aware that he wouldn't much care Were it not for the fate that they share Let's play a game, shall we shall we You say my name and I'll set you free Don't be afraid, let me let me Tell you my name, I am the sea Nobody? Just as he bellows ‘You ingrates’ They're saved by one final wave We're sinking we're sinking The water is drinking me Whispering I am the sea You know my name, show me show me Don't be afraid, I'll set you free Breathe out my name, slowly slowly We are the same, I am the sea

Say you could go anywhere you like, ok? I bet it'd be many miles away I know a man who starts, then turns around all day If you can believe this story He's a fish bowl man No matter where he swims he's always coming back again There's no point in trying To make it past the glass, he's only tugging on the line There is a different breed of fish they say The kind that's all duty and no play How can he hang around and wait for signs all day How can you believe the story Of the fish bowl man No matter where he goes, he's always coming 'round the bend And it makes no sense 'Cause every single step just has him bump against the fence Can you still believe this story He's a fish bowl man No matter where he swims, he's always floating back again And it's just no use, ‘cause even if he thinks so There's no other way to choose This is the road, take it This is your whole life in a bowl This is the road, take it This is your whole life, dig it

They don't come around anymore They used to call my name and wait outside my door Happy campers and a bunch of hangers-on Those dreadful days are gone, that's right They stopped following me around Creepy greasy crackpots stealing through the grounds When I told them there was nothing to be found I scolded them and frowned, that's why They don't come around anymore All I needed was for them to leave me be Not abandon me completely They don't bother me anymore Do you know it must have been years ago When that penny dropped and suddenly they stopped No, I don't hang about anymore All my heydays are much quieter than before Now I follow them around And they tell me there is nothing to be found Happy phantoms drifting by the windowpane I can hear them call my name In the warm September rain Silver king Take your cane Turn the key Autumn springs Can you hear Brings the rain Through the rain Shakes the trees And the trees Will you sing I am here Once again Call my name Try at least Try at least

The Lackey 03:14
They've counted countless constellations Piles of planets, stacks of stars But out of all these big formations There's only one that breaks your heart Who is the lackey on the grey horse Who is that squire in dull attire Poring over drawings maps and charts Do you know where to start There have been scores of overseers But they could only see your worst Who is the lackey on the grey horse Who is that squire in dull attire Who is this current urban servant You've thought it over, perhaps you think too much You can tailor all you touch Who is the lackey on the grey horse Who is that squire in dull attire Who is this current urban servant You are a space age page Hey, space age page

Away 04:26
This is no time for indecision In fact there's not much time at all They said you'll suffer for your vision So when do they show when will they call? The daylight fades into the evening Outside your window in the rain A pair of overcoats stand waiting They know you're giving it away Brave enough to watch but not to touch you Sometimes when they dream they see the truth Penned and sent along in your balloon The wild Monsoon, your careless ally Picks up and hurls its weightless freight Across the sky to throw a lifeline You've paid, now you're giving it away Once your friends, now they’re just two nosy bullies But old tricks don't stick when you're out of reach Hope the message does eventually It's not some shameful secret It's just the way you see it A simple mix of words, just words they say Will lead to disarray And it happens today Come on come on come on let go Away away away Another sunny day and you are ready Wave at your pursuers as you leave If they only knew how to be free They would give it away

Fireflies 06:02
We heard another one fly by outside but we're alright You know the drill, still you clench your teeth, forget to breathe That feeling in your belly, swelling up like a big balloon But you're coping, making room, hoping someday soon Things will change, things do change Another week has past according to the hourglass Here in the midst of it, where every hit could be the last But it's been quiet of late and we get restless as we wait Is there nothing left to crush or kill or obliterate? All we do, see it through, we don't move Why don't we go swimming in the lake tonight And watch the fireflies shine their tiny lights Wouldn't you like to go and wander through the park Feel the grass and the dewdrops on your skin Fill your chilly glass to the brim Find shelter in the dark Standing on the rooftops, free and tall We were once surveyors of all Now we struggle to imagine a world beyond these walls I pictured us around a bonfire, playing games Singing songs and staring into the flames Don't you want to go and see if the moon still shines Pour more wine and hum another tune I don't care if it's November or June Not after all this time Why don't we go swimming in the lake tonight Just to feel it's going to be alright To be free, free to believe That it was all a dream
